Refund Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Refund Policy applies to all fees paid on the Platform and operates alongside, and does not limit, any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded.
1. Buyer unlock fees
- Full refund if, at the time you paid to unlock a listing, the watch had already been sold or the listing had already been removed by the vendor.
- Full refund if the listing is found to be materially misrepresented (for example, materially incorrect price, model/reference, or condition as compared with the vendor's own description).
- Full refund if the vendor does not respond to your introduction within 5 business days of the unlock.
- Refund requests under this clause will be assessed and, if approved, paid within 5 business days of the request.
Unlock fees are not refundable simply because you decide not to proceed, negotiations do not result in a sale, or you are dissatisfied with the outcome of a transaction between you and the vendor β WatchMerit is not a party to that transaction.
2. Vendor subscription fees
Subscription fees already charged for a current billing period are non-refundable, but a vendor may cancel future billing at any time in accordance with the Vendor Agreement. Where a payment is charged in error or duplicated due to a processing fault, WatchMerit will refund the erroneous or duplicate charge in full.
3. Trade-in bid unlock fees
The A$50 (or then-current) bid-unlock fee paid by a vendor is refundable where the seller's contact details provided were incorrect or non-functional through no fault of the vendor, or where WatchMerit removes the trade-in listing as invalid after the fee was paid. The fee is not refundable merely because the seller does not accept the vendor's bid.
4. How to request a refund
Refund requests can be made to info@watchmerit.com.au, quoting the relevant listing or transaction reference. WatchMerit aims to respond to all refund requests within 2 business days and to resolve valid requests within 5 business days. Funds may take a further 5β10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank.
5. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Policy limits any consumer guarantee, refund, repair or replacement right you have under the ACL in respect of services WatchMerit itself supplies to you (as distinct from any watch sold by a vendor, which remains the vendor's responsibility).
