Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how WatchMerit ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on watchmerit.com.au and related subdomains (the "Platform"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage, session storage and pixels. In this policy, "cookies" refers to all of these technologies.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the Platform to function: authentication and session management, security and abuse prevention, load balancing, your currency and region preference, and storing your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off and are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
Analytics. Help us understand which watches, searches and pages are used so we can improve the index. Set only after you consent.
Marketing. Used for campaign attribution and audience measurement. Set only after you consent.
We do not use cookies to make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you, and we do not sell personal information.
3. Consent
When you first visit the Platform you are shown a consent banner. Non-essential cookies are not loaded unless and until you accept them. Your choice is stored on your device and is re-requested if this policy materially changes or after 12 months.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the control (also linked in the site footer). Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
4. Third parties
Some cookies may be set by service providers acting on our behalf, including our hosting, database and authentication provider, payment processor, error-monitoring provider and, if enabled, our analytics provider. These providers may process data outside Australia. See the Privacy Policy for details on overseas disclosure and the safeguards we apply.
Pages that embed third-party content (for example maps) may set cookies controlled by that third party under their own policies.
5. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers offer a "do not track" or global privacy control signal. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform β including sign-in, watchlists and unlock flows β from working.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows the current version. Questions or privacy requests: info@watchmerit.com.au.
