Data Collection & Takedown Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains the basis on which WatchMerit collects listing data and sets out the process for a dealer, marketplace or rights-holder to request removal of their listings, images or an unclaimed vendor profile.
1. Basis for collection
WatchMerit's automated tools collect information that is publicly and freely accessible on third-party dealer and marketplace websites, including listed price, specifications, condition notes, images and the source page URL, together with auction house sold results. This information is used solely to generate independent, aggregated market analytics and to display individual listings with an introduction mechanism. WatchMerit does not attempt to bypass paywalls, logins or technical access controls.
2. Refresh and removal
Listings are re-checked on a regular basis. Listings that are marked sold or whose source page is no longer available are automatically archived or removed from the Platform where technically possible. Every listing links back to its original source.
3. Takedown / opt-out process
A dealer, marketplace operator or rights-holder may request removal of specific listings, images, or an unclaimed vendor profile by emailing info@watchmerit.com.au with:
- the URL(s) or listing reference(s) concerned;
- confirmation of their relationship to the listing or business; and
- whether the request is a one-off removal or an ongoing opt-out from future collection.
WatchMerit will action valid requests within 5 business days and will maintain an internal opt-out list to prevent re-collection of the same source going forward.
