Pricing
How does WatchMerit calculate the fair price?+
For every reference we aggregate live dealer listings worldwide, compute a market median, and set a fair-price band (typically ±5–15%). Any listing at or below the median is flagged as a good buy; listings above the band are flagged as overpriced.
What is the WatchMerit Score?+
A composite 0–100 score built from price fairness, collector demand, rarity, liquidity, brand strength, and 12-month price outlook. Higher = better value + stronger fundamentals right now.
What does the 12-month outlook mean?+
It projects the 30-day trend forward for one year, capped at ±40%. It is a directional signal, not a guarantee.
Is the insurance value the same as retail?+
No. It's a replacement-cost estimate (roughly market median plus a scarcity premium) intended to help owners size an insurance policy. Always confirm with a licensed insurer.
Buying
How do I contact a seller?+
Open any listing, submit an enquiry, and WatchMerit passes your contact details to the vendor. The vendor then reaches out directly. WatchMerit never handles the watch or the payment.
Are the sellers verified?+
Yes. Every vendor account is claimed by an authenticated user and validated before listings go live. See our Trust & Security page for detail.
Why is the seller hidden?+
So buyers benchmark the price and the watch on WatchMerit before being marketed to. Once a buyer submits an enquiry, both parties exchange details.
Can I get a report on a specific watch?+
Yes. Every listing has a Download report button that generates a branded PDF covering price fairness, WatchMerit Score, rarity, demand, and liquidity.
Selling
How much does it cost to list?+
Listing is free while WatchMerit is scaling. Vendors are only charged once a buyer converts through the platform. Terms are set out in the Vendor Agreement.
How do I become a vendor?+
Sign in, open the Vendor portal, and claim or submit your business. Once verified, you can manage listings, receive leads, and respond to buyer enquiries.
Data
Where does the data come from?+
Three layers: live listings scraped from dealer websites, monthly market-median snapshots used for benchmarks, and curated reference data for rarity, wait times, and demand. Everything is indicative and disclosed on each page.
How often are listings updated?+
New listings are pulled on a rolling schedule. Deeply discounted listings are re-validated daily and removed if the source page is gone or marked sold.
